Windiest spot in Ontario today. Felt like working on Maui schedule.
Ontario Ajax Paradise Park
Started just before 11am, and finished just after 5pm with a nice lunch break and a nap on the front hall of the house in my suit. Nice visit from rINR for support as I was alone all day.
The morning started bad with crazy 1-2 feet high chops in between big swells (reminiscent of outside Mac when super windy), it was initially light on the inside where I got some nice clean down the line riding but overpowered on 4.0 on the outside. The swells were super steep at times on the outside logo/mast high and nowhere to go but up and I had zippo control on that kind of port jumps.
After the break, things cleaned up, the wind was now side shore 28-36knts, with side on conditions, less voodoo chops and long 7sec wave periods. The swells were over mast high at time. Some nice front side riding and some great jibing on the outside on the face of huge steep swells. Ended up riding mostly on the outside for the last 2hrs to conserve energy.
Blown a jibe on the outside, gear ripped out of my hand and swam 100m parallel to shore, it was exhausting trying to chase gear that's being dragged away from you. Packed it up soon after.
Sailed my Superfreak 3.5 the whole afternoon and it was awesome. On off feeling, really light in the hand when luffing/surfing. The only cons would be not a lot of power. And when those 34 +knots hit, it felt like well...nothing!! Amazing.
It was a memorable pleasure and pain day.
