Rondeau Windfest 2010
At Rondeau Yacht Club - July 3, 2010
June 17, 2010
Hello friends,
RYC is once again hosting a Windsurfing Canada / Ontario Sailing sanctioned windsurfing regatta on July 3rd. This is an all ages, all abilities event and if the past five years of this regatta is any indication of what is to be expected, then everyone who takes part in this years event is guaranteed to have a great time.
In addition to the racing this year, we are very fortunate to have one of Ontario's leading youth windsurfing instructors and coaches, Andree Gauthier, at RYC on Friday, July 2nd in the afternoon to put on a spectacular "Learn to Race" clinic for our Jr. members. Andree is graciously volunteering her time for this endeavor and therefore the clinic shall be free-of-charge for the kids who take part.
I would like to note that we are looking for about a dozen volunteers to help with the regatta at various time of the day. The volunteers are needed to help at the registration desk, with the Race Committee and Scoring, acting as the ever important "Beach Boss", and helping out in the preparation and sales of the traditional "RYC Sailors' Lunch".
I have attached our promotional poster and official Notice of Race as pdf files to this email. These contain much of the specifics of the actual regatta event. However, if you have any questions about the racing or volunteering please feel to send me an email.
So, if you are around the park and able to make it, come on out and support the club by either racing, volunteering, purchasing a sailors' lunch or just sitting back in one the Adirondack chairs and enjoying the action on the water. Again, you are guaranteed to have a great time!
Kindest regards,
David French, Regatta Organizer and Past-Past-Past-Past Commodore (2006)
